Bio: Tales from the Anxiety Ridden started in November 2014 as a way to cope with my parents leaving New York City and being on my own for the first time. I was angry and scared about the idea of them moving on without me. I have always dealt with anxiety and been different from the people around me so this event was my wake up call in trying to find a way to cope that was more productive than just lashing out or compartmentalizing how I felt. I wanted to create a forum where I could work through my anxiety and the new life change but also find others like me and read about their journeys along the way. Four years later, I find myself lacking a muse. Lack of time mostly contributes to this but also falling into old habits of allowing my anxiety to consume me. I have a lot to be thankful for but I also have a lot I want to chronicle in hopes to share my journey to help others and myself along the way. My goal for this blog isn't to just discuss my mental health hardships but rather highlight them in a way that proves even with mental health issues you can live an absolutely normal life. I am more than my anxiety. I am a daughter, I am a soon to be a wife, I am a sister and a friend. I am also a writer, I'm a fangirl of all kinds and a lifelong New Yorker. This is my story to tell and I hope that I am able to help you, if not at least entertain you along the way.
